On August 14, the Jefferson County Conservation District hosted a cover crop aerial seeding demonstration on two local farms. This meeting was the first in a series of field days focused on promoting cover crops and no-till farming throughout the County. As one of the sponsors of these events, Headwaters RC&D is proud to share pictures and video from this informative session.
Please plan to attend the October 9 cover crop field day at the Smith Oak Farm in Reynoldsville, PA. There will also be a follow-up field day in the Spring of 2010 to see how the different varieties of cover crops planted this summer and fall will survive through the winter.
Support for this project was provided by Capital Resource Conservation and Development Area Council with funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
